Once planned as luxury real estate for the well-off, the high-rise housing estate on the Kölnberg is considered a problem district of Cologne (Germany). Negative headlines fuel the press — violence, filth and drugs are the main focus of reporting. Mostly ignored is the situation of the children living on the Kölnberg, although they make up almost a quarter of the total number of residents. A letter from the "monkey class 4d", at the "school in the south", should change this: With reference to their basic rights — the right to play, rest and leisure — the children demanded that the City of Cologne change their current play situation on the Kölnberg. Their voice was heard and formed the basis for a cooperation project between pupils and students of Ecosign.

Einst als Luxusimmobilien für gut situierte Personen geplant, gilt die Hochhaussiedlung auf dem Kölnberg als Problembezirk Kölns. Negative Schlagzeilen schüren die Presse – Gewalt, Dreck und Drogen sind das Hauptaugenmerk der Berichterstattungen. Meist unbeachtet bleibt die Situation der am Kölnberg wohnenden Kinder, dabei machen sie knapp ein Viertel der Gesamteinwohnerzahl aus. Ein Brief der Affenklasse 4d, an der „Schule im Süden“, sollte dies ändern: Mit Vermerk auf Ihre Grundrechte – das Recht auf Spiel, Ruhe und Freizeit – forderten die Kinder von der Stadt Köln eine Veränderung ihrer aktuellen Spielsituation am Kölnberg. Ihre Stimme wurde erhört und bildete die Grundlage für ein Kooperationsprojekt zwischen Schülern und Studierenden der Ecosign.
