Close and distant at the same time. Big cities are characterised by the image of anonymity, often even when people live close together in a small space. The Lichtstraße (lightstreet) in Cologne, on the other hand, is a place full of familiar faces. People whose lives could not be more different and yet have one thing in common: the feeling of being at home. I live in an old building with three floors, my neighbours are called Carlo, Regina, Peter and Nicolai. The portrait shows insights into their lives.

Nah und gleichzeitig fern. Großstädte sind vom Bild der Anonymität geprägt, oft auch dann, wenn man auf kleinem Raum eng beieinander lebt. Die Lichtstraße hingegen ist ein Ort voller mir bekannter Gesichter. Menschen deren Leben unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten und dennoch eines eint: Das Gefühl, zu Hause zu sein. 

 

Ich wohne in einem Altbau mit drei Stockwerken, meine Nachbarn heißen Carlo, Regina, Peter und Nicolai.
