The work Projektionsfläche (projection surface) is dedicated to the question of what effect humanistic oriented photographs have in psychiatric rooms. Can photographs support or evoke certain feelings and to what extent are there differences in the perception of people with mental disorders? In cooperation with patients and psychologists of the day clinic of the Sankt Josefs-Hospital in Lennenstadt (Germany), a world of images has been created that refers to the diversity of being human. The depiction of different everyday situations and the approach to certain emotions offers a kind of projection surface for viewers, which can have a supportive effect in the course of therapy.

 

Die Arbeit Projektionsfläche widmet sich der Frage, welche Wirkung humanistisch orientierte Fotografien in psychiatrischen Räumen haben. Können Fotografien bestimmte Gefühle unterstützen oder hervorrufen und inwiefern gibt es dabei Unterschiede in der Wahrnehmung von Menschen mit psychischen Störungen? 

In Zusammenarbeit mit Patient:innen und Psycholog:innen der Tagesklinik des Sankt Josefs-Hospitals in Lennenstadt ist eine Bildwelt entstanden, die sich auf die Vielfältigkeit des Menschseins bezieht. So bietet die Darstellung unterschiedlicher Alltagssituationen und der Annäherung an bestimmte Emotionen eine Art Projektionsfläche für Betrachter:innen, welche unterstützend im Therapieverlauf wirken kann.
